Residents fed up with the violence at Mystique Lounge

Some residents are fed up with the violence associated with Mystique Lounge after a fatal shooting at the club a week ago.

A shooting also occurred three months prior to last week?s shooting outside of the Bronxwood Avenue club. Neighbors are attempting to stop the violent cycle by asking that the club be shut down.

However, other neighbors say the shooting shouldn?t be a reason to shut down the club because it could have happened anywhere. They believe it proved to be a neighborhood friendly place after the club hosted a children?s party Sunday evening.

Community Board 12 recommended the club?s license not be renewed a year ago. The board says, to date, it has a list of 18 violations, including no security guard, unlicensed cabaret, disorderly premise and a bouncer without valid registration.
