Sotomayor to inaugurate Bronxdale Houses in her name

On Friday, the Bronxdale Houses, in the Bruckner neighborhood, will be renamed in honor of the Supreme Court's Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who spent much of her childhood there.

Sotomayor will be at the renaming ceremony Friday around noon. Workers at the Bronxdale Houses are preparing for her visit and putting up new signage.

Justice Sotomayor is the first Hispanic-American to be on the Supreme Court and lived in the Bronxdale Houses from 1957 to 1969.
