Empire State Building says 'no' to Mother Teresa

(AP) - New York's Empire State Building said "yes" toMariah Carey, dog shows - even the anniversary of communist China.

But the skyscraper's owners have declined to light it up inhonor of Mother Teresa.

Catholic League President Bill Donohue tells The AssociatedPress that building officials are "bigots" against Catholics.

His advocacy group requested the illumination on Aug. 26 for thecentennial of the late Nobel Peace Prize winner's birth.

Donohue says the request was denied without explanation.

Telephone messages left for building spokeswoman Melanie Maaschwere not returned.
