NYPD to monitor Pelham Bay bar after complaints

The NYPD has assigned plainclothes officers to a Pelham Bay bar after residents have mounted a campaign of complaints against the establishment.

Two new investigations and inspections by the Department of Buildings have landed the Pompeii Lounge with several violations.

Neighbors say the bar?s patrons are rowdy and disruptive to the neighborhood.

Community Board 10 says after meetings with the bar owners and the NYPD, officers assigned to the bar will monitor underage drinking and assure customers are leaving the bar in an orderly way.

News 12 The Bronx has reached out to Pompeii Lounge for comment, but has not yet received a response.
