Bronx pianos breaking from banged keys
Some young Mozarts have been playing their heart out and causing damage to at least two outdoor pianos in the Bronx.
The pianos in the areas of Fordham and Norwood are being locked during weekdays because unsupervised children damaged the keys, according to a spokesperson from the Parks Department. One of the pianos also has a broken chair and legs.
The non-profit Sing For Hope, is running the, "Play Me, I'm Yours," public art project which puts pianos in parks throughout the city. The pianos are regularly serviced and will be donated to various agencies.
