BX resident flies flag to honor terrorism victims

A Bronx man spent his Fourth of July remembering victims of terrorism.

Vietnam veteran Ronald James Sorenson honored victims by flying a "MIA-OON" flag, which stands for "Missing In Attack On Our Nation," outside his Kingsbridge home.

Sorenson says he has created about 500 flags and flown them around the world, including at Yankee Stadium and at last year's Ground Zero ceremony on Sept. 11th.

Sen. Jeffrey Klein (D-34th District) is backing Sorenson to make the "MIA-OON" flag official. The state Assembly will vote on the bill next session.
