Famed Yankees announcer mourned

Bronx residents are mourning the loss of famed New York Yankees public address announcer Bob Sheppard.

Sheppard, whose impeccable introductions of stars from Joe DiMaggio to Derek Jeter earned him the nickname "The Voice of God," died yesterday at 99.

Yankees officials tell News 12 the organization will honor Sheppard when the team begins play again after baseball's All-Star break.
