Nat'l Weather Service confirms tornado in Riverdale

The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF1 tornado touched down along the eastern shore of the Hudson River in Riverdale yesterday.

City crews and residents, meanwhile, cleaned up today after the violent storm tore through the neighborhood over the weekend.

Downed trees and branches littered the sidewalks and streets after the storm, which brought high winds and drenching rain to the area.

City officials are asking residents to report locations of downed tress by calling 311.
