Trees planted in Throgs Neck to make city 'greener'

The city?s Department of Transportation planted trees along a road in the Bronx yesterday as part of Mayor Michael Bloomberg?s Million Trees NYC program.

New trees were placed along the Throgs Neck Expressway in an attempt to cut down road noise and car pollution.

The goal of the program is to plant a million trees across the city by 2017.
