Kids across city tee off for free golf lessons

(08/02/10) BAYCHESTER - The City Parks Foundation is offering free golf lessons for children between ages 6 and 16 this summer.

Foundation officials say the program teaches children the fundamentals of golf, such as how to hold the club and the right way to stand. The lessons then move onto how to hit different shots.

But the program is looking to offer more than just golf lessons. "Honesty, respect, sportsmanship, it's all very important to our program," said Aaron Lind, of the City Parks Foundation.

Officials say it's not too late to sign up for the August session. Those interested should show up on a Monday or Wednesday or sign up online.
