9 separate incidents leave 12 shot, 2 dead in the Bronx

The Bronx is filled with vigils and memorials today after nine separate incidents Saturday morning left 12 people shot, two of which died.

One of the victims, 16-year-old Alexis Abreu, was shot in the back and killed. Police have no clues as to why he was targeted.

Saturday afternoon, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. said in response to the violence, ?Last night?s wave of violence is extremely alarming, not only to myself but to the overwhelming majority of my constituents... This has to stop.?

For now, police have not released any information about possible suspects or motives behind the crimes.

Diaz will sit down with News 12 The Bronx to discuss the violence on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
