Westchester Square residents have launched a neighborhood watch program following the recent rape of a 79-year-old woman.

Police are still searching for the man who attacked the septuagenarian inside an elevator in her building near Benson Avenue on the morning of July 19.

A meeting was held at the Sanctuary Community Center on Saint Peters Avenue for those interested in joining.

Meanwhile, police are asking anyone with information about the sexual assault of the elderly woman to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
