NYPD to be sued for shootout that killed a Harlem man

(08/11/10) HARLEM - The NYPD is being sued by another man who was shot in the thigh at the same party that Luis Soto was killed at.

Police responded to a dispute at a block party in Harlem that ended in a shootout. Luis Soto was thought to have been shot and killed by the man with whom he is said to have been fighting, but forensic reports found that a police officer's weapon fired the bullet that killed him.

Now a bystander to the shootout is saying he was hit in the thigh by an officer's stray bullet and is suing the NYPD for $20 million.
