Mother of 5 anxiously awaits Section 8 voucher

A Bronx mother of five says she?s asking for help from the New York City Housing Authority so that her family isn?t forced out on the street.

Silvia Grezette says she is in the process of leaving her foreclosed building and had started the application process for the New York City Housing Authority's Section 8 Voucher Program in March. The program helps low-income tenants pay rent.

Grezette says she has attempted to speak to the New York City Housing Authority nine times to find out if she has been approved and when she will receive her transfer.

A city spokesperson says that they received Grezette's request in May, but cannot approve it because she hasn't filled out all of the paperwork with the information for three of her sons that are adopted.
