New campaign launched to combat domestic violence

(08/13/10) THE BRONX - More than 50 carts, local businesses and medical offices will be hanging posters that call for people to get help if they are victims of domestic violence as part of a new campaign.

The posters, which will be in both English and Spanish, will urge victims, regardless of their immigration status, to call the domestic violence hotline, or 311, for help.

According to the latest statistics from Mayor Michael Bloomberg?s office, deaths as a result of domestic violence have nearly doubled in the Bronx since last year.
