Consumer Affairs: List of over-charging supermarkets was inaccurate

The New York City Department of Consumer Affairs says a list released earlier today about over-charging supermarkets in the city was inaccurate.The department claimed the stores mentioned on the list used inaccurate scanners, taxed untaxable items and failed to price certain products.Here is the department's full statement:"This morning the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) announced the results of its yearlong inspection of supermarkets. We deeply regret the error but unfortunately the supplemental list of the worst offenders in each borough was inaccurate. We apologize to the supermarkets that were mistakenly included in this list.
