Group of disabled children meet the Yankees

(08/19/10) THE BRONX - A group of disabled children was invited to meet some of the Bronx Bombers at the Yankees-Tigers game today.

The children arrived and were greeted by Yankee manager Joe Girardi and several members of the team.

The event was a part of Hope Week, a week where the Yankees franchise is trying to help others to persevere and excel. Many of the kids have Down's syndrome or Muscular Dystrophy. The event is a family experience designed to help build bridges between kids and parents.
