Trial begins for men accused of plotting to blow up synagogues
Opening statements began today in the trial of four men accused of plotting to detonate explosives at two Bronx synagogues and an airport in Orange County.
The prosecution began its opening statement by talking about how the men had plotted and gone so far as to purchase supplies to carry out their plan.
The defense focused on entrapment and how the government informant was the one who did the planning and purchasing of the supplies.
The trial, which is taking place in Manhattan, is expected to last around six weeks.
