Ceiling collapses at BX apartmentPosted: Updated:
(08/25/10) MORRISANIA - A Bronx family had a scare this morning after a ceiling collapsed, narrowly missing a 3-year-old boy at East 163rd Street and Prospect Avenue.
The little boy was in bed with his mother, but had he not been, officials say he could have been killed in his apartment
Residents say they are not sure why problems such as this one are not fixed sooner. They say bricks fell off of the building last year and landed on the sidewalk below. The superintendent of the building said he's trying to the fix problems as quickly as he can.
The Department of Buildings has asked the family to vacate the premises. The family says it is just happy to be safe.
