Bronx Community College offers free job training program

(09/01/10) THE BRONX - Bronx Community College has started a free job-skills training program to help the many Bronx residents who have lost their jobs stand out to employers.

Gwenevere Reynolds is enrolled in the displaced homemaker program and says she lost her job because of the economic downfall. She says the training program taught her Microsoft Word and other computer and résumé skills.

The program's director, Blanche Kallawon, says job seekers should always keep their résumés up to date and should use colorful words to highlight their skills. She also said time management is key.

Residents who are interested in enrolling can do so every four weeks.
