Families try to cope with kids' hit-and-run incidents

(09/02/10) THE BRONX - Two Bronx families are trying to cope with hit-and-run incidents that left their children in critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center.

Ruel Saunders and Sandra Tucker say they are experiencing a pain no parent should go through. Tucker's 19-year-old son , Jonathan, was struck by a van while on his skateboard. The van sped off immediately following the collision.

One day before, Saunders? son, Joshua, 5, chased a ball out into the street and was struck by what police believe is a Green Pathfinder. Joshua underwent brain surgery and is now recovering in the ICU and intubated to help him breathe.

Police are still looking for both drivers and have posted a sign on 214th Street asking neighbors to contact them with any information.
