Community members hold immigration forum

Community members and local leaders held an immigration forum Thursday evening.

Bronx residents who attended, learned more about immigration services and resources.

State Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. (D-The Bronx), who held a press conference today to announce the event, said he planned the forum in response to a wave of bias attacks on immigrants in the Bronx.

Espada said many of the attack victims may have been immigrants who were scared to come forward with information because they feared deportation.
