Rivera, who is a political newcomer, has never run in any election. He was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to the Bronx 10 years ago. He has promised that if elected he will fight for more jobs, better education and true reform in Albany.

The New York Attorney General?s Office recently filed a civil suit against Espada, accusing him of stealing millions from a Bronx health clinic that he founded.
