Police: Sprint employees arrested for 'cloning' cell phones

(09/17/10) THE BRONX - Nine Sprint employees are behind bars tonight after police say they were ?cloning? customers' cell phones.

Sprint and police officials say Bronx residents Pedro Rodriguez and Johnny Santana, along with seven other employees, accessed customers' accounts more than 16,000 times. According to police, the employees then paired unauthorized cell phones to those accounts and racked up nearly $15 million in calls.

Officials say the crimes were committed between January and June of this year. The employees have been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
