Defense calls alleged temple plot 'movie script' during trial

(09/22/10) THE BRONX - The trial of the four men accused of plotting to blow up Bronx synagogues and shoot down military aircraft at Stewart Airport continued today with the defense cross-examining the FBI's confidential informant, Shahed Hussain. The suspects' defense attorney kept referring to the alleged plot as a movie script that was directed by the FBI.

During the cross-examination, Hussain said he was the one that directed the four men in their plans to bomb synagogues and shoot down military planes.

He said he told James Cromitie, Onta Williams, David Williams and Laguerre Payen where to place the bombs, how to use them and where to stand during the attempted attacks.

The prosecution rebutted by telling the jury that regardless of the circumstances, the men were ready to kill and are dangerous.
