Wake held for Nicaraguan diplomat found dead in the Bronx

(09/28/10) WASHINGTON HEIGHTS - Friends and family members today mourned the loss of the Nicaraguan diplomat who was found dead last week in the Bronx.

Police say 34-year-old Cesar Mercado was found with his throat slit inside his Grand Concourse apartment Thursday. Police say two knives were found in his apartment.

A wake was held today at the Ortiz Funeral Home. His body will be flown to Nicaragua tomorrow, where he will be laid to rest.
