Woman injured by piece of falling marble in BX

(09/28/10) THE BRONX - A woman was struck by a piece of falling marble today on the corner of East 182nd Street and Creston Avenue.

Witnesses say she was standing in the entrance of a building waiting for someone to come and let her in when a piece of heavy marble broke loose, slicing a large hole into the back of her neck. One witness said he heard her screaming and ran over to her.

Crews have removed the remaining pieces of marble from above the entrance and the building has since been reopened.
