Stalled church construction irks Baychester neighbors

Some Baychester residents say they are frustrated with the stalled construction of a Baptist church in their neighborhood.A neighbor on Boller Avenue says her property is sinking because of all the water that has collected in the hole that now takes up most of the construction site. The Department of Buildings made a note in September about the contractor at the site draining water from the hole. The DOB says it has been monitoring the building site as a stalled site since January."I don't mind that the construction site is there," says neighbor Abel Doce. "I just want it to either finish, or go away."Some employees of the contracting company that is now in charge of the project say part of the reason it's stalled is because the church is in a legal battle with the previous contractor.
