Thousands hit the Bronx for Columbus Day parade
Thousands of spectators were in Morris Park on Sunday to celebrate Columbus Day at the annual parade.
The festivities have become an October fixture in Morris Park since the first parade back in 1977. This year, parade founder Dominick Castore, 82, was the grand marshal in honor of the 33 years he has helped make the parade a reality.
Many of the spectators and marchers said they had a blast at the festivities, even though the route was slightly shortened this year due to city budget cuts.
