BX street transformed into artistic garden

A street in the Bronx has been transformed from a trash-ridden intersection to an artistic garden.

Three Bronx artists, along with the Department of Transportation and the Bronx Museum, revamped 165th Street and Carroll Place in an effort to clean up local neighborhoods.

The artists say they used simple, everyday items to create 60 brightly painted planters. Recycled dresser drawers and crates are among the items now filled with flowers and plants.

The art will remain on display for the next 11 months.
