Teacher fired for Facebook interaction with students

A Bronx teacher has been fired after an investigation found he allegedly posted inappropriate comments on female students' Facebook pages.

The probe, carried out by the city's special commissioner of investigation, claims that 37-year-old Chadwin Reynolds, who taught at Fordham High School for the Arts, also tried to get students' phone numbers and ask them out on dates.

Parents are now calling for guidelines from the Department of Education banning teacher-student relationships on social networking sites.

In a statement, the Department of Education told News 12 The Bronx that it is continually looking at ways to keep policies in line with the pace of technology.
