Residents concerned about broken manhole cover

Drivers and workers around Hunts Point say they are worried about a broken manhole cover in the area.

Many say they have been complaining about the open manhole on Timpson Place for quite some time. Workers at a nearby scrap-yard business put a metal plate over the broken cover to avoid any accidents.

Crews from Consolidated Edison, Inc. say they first received a call about the problem yesterday. They created a barricade around the cover to block drivers.
