Bronx boy back home after surviving heart transplant

A Bronx boy has returned home after spending 110 days in Montefiore Medical Center recovering from a heart transplant.

Jason Mejias was diagnosed with a disease in July that was causing his heart to slowly deteriorate. Doctors were forced to use a special machine to keep the 7-year-old's heart pumping while he waited for a donor and the operation was performed.

Jason is expected to begin attending school again next year.
