Community rallies to save Catholic schools
Parents, teachers and local lawmakers rallied Thursday, trying to stop the impending closure of St. Anthony-Saint Frances Catholic school.
The school is one of six Bronx Catholic schools that have been labeled "at risk" by the Archdiocese of New York. The schools are coping with poor enrollment and funding gaps, church officials say.
School leaders must submit a plan today to save the school to the archbishop and superintendent.
Other schools that may be affected are St. John Vianney, St. Augustine, St. Martin of Tours, St. Pius the Fifth, and St. Dominic's
