Yankee Stadium becomes North Pole for Bronx kids

Thousands of Bronx kids got an early glimpse of Christmas tonight after Yankee Stadium was turned into a winter wonderland.

The borough president's office and the Yankees teamed up to turn the stadium into the North Pole.

Children and their parents were treated to a holiday extravaganza complete with holiday decorations, carolers, elves, gifts and Santa Claus.

The kids who were invited are from various community and clergy organizations, family shelters and churches from across the Bronx.

The borough president's office and the Yankees say it is just a small token of appreciation given to families in the Bronx who are most in need during these tough economic times.
