Cops: Suspect in church school robbery has criminal past
The suspect arrested for allegedly breaking into a church school in Bedford Park has a long rap sheet, according to police.
Officials say Nathaniel Linden, 51, has been charged with two counts of burglary after he used his fists to smash a window at Saint Philip Neri School in Bedford Park. A church member noticed him acting suspiciously and called police, who caught up with the man a few blocks away.
Police say Linden has been arrested 17 times between 1980-2009 for robbery, burglary, possession of burglar's tools, criminal mischief, drug possession and petty larceny.
Investigators have not determined whether he is involved in other recent church robberies, but say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
