Blizzard batters The Bronx

The Bronx was blasted by a blizzard that dumped between 12-18 inches of snow on the borough and the rest of the city. The snowfall started early Sunday and intensified during the afternoon. News 12 The Bronx meteorologists say the snow will taper off this afternoon. The snowfall is being accompanied by very strong winds with gusts of up to 60 mph, which can cause drifting snow. Drivers are urged to stay off the roads unless necessary. If traveling is a must, drivers are asked to use extreme caution. Alternate-side parking rules are suspended for today, but drivers must still feed the meters. ConEdisonCon Ed Outage MapNYC Office of Emergency ManagementMTA AdvisoriesRedCross
