Third annual March to End Violence held in The Bronx

Hundreds of students, teachers, community leaders and elected officials marched through Bathgate today in the third annual March to End Violence, organized by Validus Prep.

The event was created to help promote peace and remember two Validus students who were killed by gun violence. During the day-long event, students took part in a series of workshops on cyber-bullying, and gang and gun violence, all to encourage students to promote peace and unity.

At the end of the day, the group marched to Crotona Park, where a moment of silence was held and balloons were released in memory of Nadairee Walters and Martin Jackson, two seniors from Validus Prep.

Organizers say they hope to include more schools in next year's march.
