Owner of popular Parkchester eatery arrested

The owner of a popular Parkchester restaurant has been arrested on charges of grand larceny.

Joe Torres, the 66-year-old chef and owner of Joe's Place, was arrested for failing to report over $6 million in sales to city and state taxes over a five-year period, according to authorities.

He is also accused of failing to pay more than $500,000 in state and city taxes. If convicted, Torres may face up to 15 years in prison.
