$18M award for wrongfully convicted man overturned

The $18 million award for a Bronx man wrongfully convicted of rape has been overturned by a judge.

Alan Newton spent 22 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of rape. He was released after a rape kit from his trial was uncovered.

Newton was awarded $18 million by a jury, but a judge overturned the ruling saying there was no proof Newton had been denied due process.
