Investigators say a gunman fired at least nine shots at a group of people who were standing on Morrison Ave. They say the child was hit in the back and was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where sources say she underwent emergency surgery.

Two other people, a 24-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, were also injured in the shooting, according to authorities. They are expected to recover.
