An NYPD police officer from The Bronx who is at the center of a ticket-fixing scandal appeared before a judge and was offered a plea deal today.
As part of the deal, Jose Ramos would have to spend 18 years behind bars. The officer?s attorney, however, rejected the plea, believing that his client would have a better chance going to trial.
Ramos is being charged with running a drug-dealing operation out of two South Bronx barbershops.
Ramos, who worked at the 40th Precinct, is being held on $500,000 bail.
