Livery cab drivers across the city held a rally this morning urging Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) to pass a bill allowing drivers to pick up customers hailing in the street.The protest started at around 7:30 a.m. outside the governor's office in Midtown Manhattan.Under the current law, only yellow taxi drivers can legally make street pickups without being fined. The governor has said that livery cabs need to be more wheelchair-accessible in order for the plan to move forward.
