Parking woes have Belmont drivers seeing red
Drivers in Belmont say that a hospital construction project has nearly eliminated any hope of finding a parking spot in the neighborhood.
According to residents, tractor-trailers have taken over Oak Tree Place due to ongoing work on a six-story garage at St. Barnabas Hospital, eliminating about 30 prime parking spots.
Many say they don't understand why the road is being used when the hospital has its own construction site.
Residents say that because of the lack of parking spots, some drivers are blocking handicapped access ramps.
Community Board 6 says it has received numerous complaints about the trucks and plans on asking the hospital to move them to free up parking.
