A Bronx family is mourning the death of a 16-year-old who was fatally shot after returning home to The Bronx for the holidays.
According to authorities, Justin Williams was shot in the torso just before midnight at the corner of Brook Avenue and E. 143rd Street on Monday. He was transported to Lincoln Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
Williams was a student at Proctor High School upstate in Utica. His mother said she was trying to give him a better life and had let him come home from school early because he was doing so well.
Viewing for Williams will be held at Eternity Funeral Services on Dec. 27.
Police say they are still searching for suspects in the case.
