Bronx church allowed to stay open despite education law

Parishioners of the Bronx Bible Church will temporarily still be able to attend services at the Sotomayor Community Center.The Supreme Court recently upheld a Department of Education ruling, which bans religious groups from gathering in public school or community centers.
Church officials hope that the New York City Housing Authority will eventually grant them permanent status at the community center.
The church?s deadline to move out has been extended from Dec. 31 to February.
