BX man points finger at NYPD in stolen iPad arrest

Posted: Updated:

A Bronx man arrested on charges that he bought a stolen iPad during an undercover sting is leveling entrapment charges against the NYPD. Restaurant owner Delmis Perdomo, 29, was among the 141 people taken into custody in a citywide NYPD sting targeting stolen iPads and iPods. The suspects were charged with criminal possession of stolen property. Perdomo says he was not told the iPad was stolen when the officer approached him inside a barbershop, selling each device for $100. Depending on the size and model, iPads usually cost up to $800. Perdomo, however, pleaded guilty to the charges. He is now working with a lawyer who says, under a deal, his client will only be responsible for paying a fine and maintaining a clean criminal record to avoid a conviction.
