Crushed sewer line causing problems 1 year later

A crushed sewer line is causing a smelly situation in Riverdale an entire year after it first broke.

According to resident Dena Alto, sewage began leaking from her house on 232nd Street last December. Since then, Alto says she's filed more than 50 complaints with the city.

Alto says the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has checked on the broken pipe several times, but nothing has been done. She also regularly speaks with supervisors from the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Health.

News 12 The Bronx reached out to the DEP multiple times, but has not yet heard back.
