Security cameras requested for Lydig Avenue

Community leaders and police in the 49th Precinct are taking more action to stop crime near Lydig Avenue by requesting security cameras.

Police say while Lydig Avenue is not a hotspot for major crimes, drug dealing is rampant in the area.

State Sen. Jeff Klein's office says it is looking into making the idea a reality after he said that recently installed cameras in Van Nest Park were good crime deterrents.
