BX residents blast long lines for public assistance

Many residents seeking public assistance in The Bronx say they are upset over the long lines to receive the help they need.

Some say that lines for 45 minutes or more are common, especially during the holidays.

Many in line say they are frustrated waiting for hours outside to receive the help they need.

"Forty-five minutes outside and I'm not even near the door yet," says Doreen Miles. "So now I have to wait another two hours on a line... just to see somebody."

Officials say that the easiest way to avoid the lines is to apply for assistance online.
